Tuna Tataki
Ingredients:
- 1 Thawed Albacore Tuna Loin
- 1-2 Tablespoons Peanut Oil
- 3-4 Stalks of Green Onion Chopped
- Ponzu Sauce (a Japanese citrus based soya sauce)
Method:
Step 1: Preheat a heavy duty frying pan, such as a cast iron pan, with the oil until quite hot.
Step 2: Remove excess moisture from the tuna loin with paper towel and place in the frying pan. Sear each side of the loin for approximately 45 seconds to 1 minute.
Step 3: Once each side has been seared remove the loin from the pan and place on a cutting board and let cool for a few minutes.
Step 4: With a sharp knife slice the loin into thin rounds and arrange on a plate.
Step 5: Sprinkle the chopped green onion and the ponzu sauce over the sliced rounds.
Step 6: Enjoy.
